Conference 'LINC'-ing Florida's Hort. Educators to Industry Pros Planned for September

Seeking to bridge the gap between industry labor needs and an educated workforce, FNGLA has partnered with Florida Farm Bureau, the Florida Aquaculture Association, and AEST in the upcoming LINC Conference, scheduled for Sept. 27-29 in Daytona Beach Shores.

Florida’s agriculture educators will learn proven industry practices through professional development, led by agriculture industry experts – including a number of FNGLA members. This is an opportunity for educators and professionals to network and engage to ensure our agriculture, horticulture and landscape educators are prepared to fulfill their role – to meet the industry’s future workforce needs.

Support this unique approach to workforce development by sponsoring the LINC Conference. A number of opportunities are available. Contact Merry Mott at FNGLA for more information.

FNGLA to Host Certified Exam Judge Training Event

Want a front-row seat at upcoming FNGLA certification events -- all while earning CEUs?

Consider becoming an FNGLA Certified Exam Judge! FNGLA will host an exam judge training day on Oct. 10 at the UF/IFAS Ft. Lauderdale Research and Education Center in Davie, Florida.

“Since we're getting more recognition from agencies like the FDOT, we want to be sure we maintain the highest of professional standards,” says Robert Shoelson, a long-time FNGLA certification volunteer and exam judge. “This event will go a long way to maintain those integral standards – and bring on more certified judges.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to run through exam stations and access seasoned FNGLA certification judges to ask questions on any and all exam parts.

Attendees will also receive four FNGLA CEUs, and the coveted "vest of distinction" as an FNGLA Certified Exam Judge.

For more information, or to RSVP, please contact Gary Weitermann, FNGLA’s certification manager, at gweitermann@fngla.org or via phone at 800-375-3642.
