92 WA: The nose of this wine seduces you straight away with a great balance of autolytic and fruit aromas: toasted hazelnuts, warm apple tart and kaya (coconut and egg) jam. The palate is equally well balanced providing plenty of evolved fruit and toasty / yeasty flavors. Small, fine bubbles, seamless use of dosage and a long nutty finish. This fine if relatively unknown Brut NV takes first place in the derby - a shocker even for me! - Lisa Perotti-Brown, Wine Advocate

97 WA: The 2002 NPU - Nec Plus Ultra Extra Brut, a 50/50 blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir exclusively from grand cru villages, has a golden color and opens with a beautifully complex and refined bouquet of matured fruit and iodine flavors. Fermented and aged entirely in small oak barrels (pieces) for ten months and then ten years on the lees in bottle, this has lovely oxidation, ripeness and depth. Very pure and fine but wide, highly complex and elegant on the palate, the 2002 NPU combines the famous freshness of the vintage with the complexity of the composition and the bottle aging. The finish is very long, tight, rich and complex but stimulatingly dry, pure and mineral. This is a great Champagne to be enjoyed today or over the next few decades. Total production: 6,200 bottles, plus 300 magnums. The wine I tasted in October 2017 in Hamburg with Bruno Paillard was disgorged in September 2014 and aged another two years in the cellar before it went into the markets. - Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate

93 DE: An exceptional Brut Reserve NV based on the great 2008 harvest. The intricate aromas have settled into a rare complexity of bouquet. Vanilla, toast and patissiere flatter both nose and palate, miraculously freshened by lovely acidity. A superior aperitif champagne, ideally matched with oysters or caviar. 11g/l dosage. Disgorged in early 2017. Drinking Window 2017 - 2021. - Michael Edwards, Decanter

97+ VM: The 2006 Dom Perignon Rose is every bit as captivating as it was last year, maybe even more so. At times powerful, but in other moments finessed, the 2006 constantly changes in the glass, revealing a different shade of its personality with every taste. Perhaps most importantly, the 2006 seems to have gained a level of precision and pure sophistication it did not show last year, when it was quite a bit less put together. Back then, the 2006 was a wine of tremendous potential; today that potential is starting to be realized. Quite simply, the 2006 Dom Perignon Rose is a magical Champagne. Don’t miss it. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

97 AG: The 2004 Dom Ruinart is just as brilliant and viscerally thrilling as it has always been. If anything, the 2004 has shut down considerably over the last six months. Tightly coiled and exceptionally beautiful, the 2004 boasts fabulous intensity, class and pedigree. The flavors are vibrant, chiseled and crystalline in their precision. Time in bottle is doing wonders for the 2004. This is a tremendous showing. Disgorged June 2013. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous

96 DE: This was the first Grande Cuvee to be labeled as an 'Edition'. 183 reserve wines went into the blend from 12 different vintages, with the oldest being 1990 and the youngest 2007. It announces itself with a typically full and intense nose of brioche, citrus and honey, which follows through onto the broad, rich and focussed palate, a tangy melange of lemon, almond, oatmeal and praline which is super-concentrated yet full of vitality and vim. This is clearly drinking well now and provides huge pleasure with its supple acidity, creamy texture and delicate, persistent mousse. Drinking Window 2017 - 2030. - John Stimpfig, Decanter

97 VM: Krug's NV Grand Cuvee 164 Edition is a total knockout. Based on the 2008 vintage, the 164th Edition shows all the crystalline tension and energy that is such a signature of the year. At times, the 164 reminds me of the 2008 vins clairs I tasted after harvest. The flavors are brisk, delineated and pulsing with energy, while the more oxidative notes that are such a signature of Krug Champagnes are not especially evident. A wine of total pedigree and class, the 164 reminds me of some of the great Grand Cuvees of the 1960s and 1970s I have been lucky to taste over the years. No Champagne lover will want to be without this spectacular, captivating wine. All that said, readers should be patient, as the 164 is painfully young, austere and in need of serious cellaring. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous

98 VM: Very pale rose gold color. Incredible high-pitched nose combines strawberry, iodine, cinnamon, rose petal, minerals and earth. Almost painfully intense in the mouth, with a brilliant kernel of spicy fruit and pure minerally soil tones. With its bracing acids, this is distinctly austere today, yet the texture is remarkably fine-grained and there's great sweetness of fruit lurking. An essence of iodiney soil character; like a hypothetical blend of a great Montrachet and a Gevrey-Chambertin grand cru. I hesitate to score this rose even higher than Krug's great 1990 Clos du Mesnil, but this was the best bottle of Champagne I tasted this fall. - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous 11/2003 (No lot # or disgorge date provided.)

97 VM: Broad, ample and resonant on the palate, the 2006 Cristal dazzles with its pure richness and volume. Readers need to give the 2006 another 4-5 years in bottle, perhaps longer, as the wine appears to be shutting down a bit. Tasted next to the 2002, today the 2006 is a bit less opulent but just as intense, layered and deep. This is a fabulous showing. 10,000 cases imported in the US. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous

95 WS: Like Fred and Ginger, this dances gracefully on the palate, with rich and expressive flavors of peach tart, raspberry sorbet, candied ginger and orange peel, and sleek acidity that leaves a mouthwatering impression on the satiny finish. Drink now through 2031. 600 cases imported. - Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator

95 AG: A wine of crystalline energy and tension, the 2008 Brut Coeur de Cuvee is utterly captivating from the first taste. The flavors are bright, lifted and finely sculpted throughout. White peach, mint, flowers and white pepper add intriguing aromatic top notes, but it is the wine's salivating focus and cut that elevate it. The Brut Coeur de Cuvee emerges from old vines in the Blanches Voies Hautes lieu-dit in Rilly-la-Montagne. The 2008 is going to need at least a few years to come into its own, but it is a real beauty, even at this early stage. Dosage is 8 grams per liter. Disgorged: October 2015. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous
