2015 Peter Michael
au Paradis Cabernet &
les Pavots Proprietary Red
"A Latour look-alike" -  Jeb Dunnuck

Peter Michael's wines have received incredible press over the years. In 2012, Peter Michael au Paradis Cabernet received Wine Spectator #1 Wine of the Year. We're pleased to be able to offer a very limited quantity of the Peter Michael reds for the epic 2015 vintage - Peter Michael au Paradis (Cabernet Sauvignon), and 2015 Peter Michael les Pavots (proprietary red). The wines are crafted by Nicolas Morlet who grew up in Epernay, Champagne, and previously by Luc Morlet who currently operates his own eponymously named winery in Napa.

The smaller production 2015 Au Paradis is a more Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated cuvee that checks in as 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Cabernet Franc. Aged in 18 months in 50% new oak, it has a more masculine, mineral-laced style offering red and black currants, crushed rocks, chocolate, and spice. Deep, rich, concentrated, and in need of 4-6 years of cellaring, this Chateau Latour-lookalike is an awesome, classic Napa Cabernet Sauvignon! Jeb Dunnuck

A bright and vivid red with aromas of terracotta, fresh herbs, currants and blackberries. Some mint, floral notes and a touch of chocolate, too. Full body and ultra-fine tannins that are layered with ripe fruit. Love the length and beauty. Changes all the time in the glass. A fascinating wine. James Suckling

2015 Peter Michael les Pavots

$184.99/bottle (limited - in stock) Buy Now

The 2015 Les Pavots checks in as 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot and the balance Petit Verdot. It offers a huge nose of blackcurrants, blackberry, scorched earth, graphite, and cedarwood. Deep, rich, supple, and sexy, with a seamless, incredibly elegant texture, it builds with time in the glass and is a monumental Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Sonoma. Jeb Dunnuck

Intense aromas of plums, black truffles, bark and dark plums. Pine needles, too. Full-bodied, tight and polished. Extremely elegant and precise. The finish is very long and vertical. Compressed and refined. A beauty already. Drink in 2021 but already a joy to drink. James Suckling
